This evening I was reading an article about Tigers chances on the Ryder Cup team by golf reporter Chane Beacon. He wrote: “You can't help but look at the difference in talent between these two squads. Without Woods, this team could boast just three major winners, and only one multiple major winner in Phil Mickelson. We could be talking about a fourball team of Jeff Overton and Matt Kuchar, hardly the types of names that are going to ring fear in the always perked-up ears of Colin Montgomerie.”
I have to ask Beacon: At what time this year has it helped Tiger Woods that he has won 14 majors? Did it help him during the Masters, US Open, The Open or any other tournament he has played this year? The man can’t break 70 on Akron where he used to be king, and you think he will make the US Ryder Cup team stronger? When does American golf reporters wake up and realize Tiger is not even close to being an average golfer right now? How stupid do you get to be? Have you lost your mind?
The US team won the last Ryder Cup because Tiger wasn’t playing. Pure and simple. Azinger was also the best of the captains, but he could think freely, because he did not have to consider special treatment to Woods – the player who can’t be part of a team!!!
Americans have always wondered how Europe could win Ryder Cup as the underdog. Well, you won it last time in 2008 by playing as a team. That’s the secret. But, you will not be a team if Tiger is in the squad. You will be 11 guys and Tiger – and you will loose! Wake Up!!!
Why do you think Colin Montgomerie is in favor of Tiger playing at Celtic Manor? Americans has never agreed with Mrs. Doubtfire, but now he’s right??? Monty wants Woods in Wales because it will mess up an American team.
Beacon, believe me, a team of Overton and Kuchar is a lot scarier than any team with Tiger on it – at least right now! And what’s so bad about that Overton and Kuchar pairing, anyway? The pairing of Woods and Phil Mickelson lost twice in 2004! Get over it! Think straight! Even Frank Nobilo, an analyzer on The Golf Channel says “It would be good for Tiger if he played Ryder Cup.”
If the US goes with Tiger on the Team for the Ryder Cup, I can only think the same thing I thought when Bush won the presidency for the second time in a row: “You want him, you got him!”
And thank you!
